8:00 am: TB meds, 3 tabs, 12 left/4 days to go. ARV: zido/lami

You are actually the 4th person na naencounter ko na kaya nagpatest eh kasi balak magwork abroad... I think mainly because yan yung only sensible answer they found when asked why would I want to get tested... Yan kasi nakikita kong isang dahilan why the fight against HIV/AIDS have been failing here in the Philippines... di nasasagot yang tanong na yan... bakit ako magpapatest...? Kasi to most, it is still a death sentence... ang alam lang nila walang gamot sa AIDS... so magpapatest sila para malaman kung mamatay na sila o hindi... not very encouraging...

Many don't know, I for one then, that despite being the disease incurable... it is now manageable... that knowing is enabling oneself to do something about it...

Preachy ba?

Anyhow, yes... may bayad ang CD4 count sa RITM and it is pricey... 3000 pesoses!!! Talaga, sa SLH libre...? Hmmmmm... and yung sa PhilHealth, this year nga nagstart, I'm not clear kung subsidized lang or the whole amount will be covered by them... not sure... bakit di ako sure... kasi napabayaan ang Philhealth ko... and so I am waiting for six months para magamit ulit...

Ayoko kasing isipin, kasi well, I can't do much about it and that I have my own problems pa... still recovering here... neuropathic pa ko... but yes, it should be alarming because ngayon medyo maganda pa ang HIV/AIDS care and support program, we are actually very lucky, kasi in other countries, kahit sa US, nagkakaproblema sa distribution ng ARV and treatment... pero yun, hangang kailan ... That is what I am worried about... di pa natin alam what about next year, would Philhealth still shoulder it or not... specially nga at medyo lumolubo yung number ng infected...

I am also not hoping for a cure... a vaccine... sorry, pero kasi 1st, mahirap umasa sa wala... so yung mentality na lang is to work around it... tipong make it work... and kasi, selfish siguro on my part, kung may lalabas nga na cure or vaccine... hello! 3rd world country?! Or it would be very expensive... ARV nga ngayon, mahal eh... yung cure pa kaya talaga... are you getting my drift...?

As I said join us at twitter... add mo ko @casuallypositiv and there you would find a community ng PLHIV...
Was just told...

I  don't know this kasi lahat nung baseline ko was done nung nakaconfine ako... and yes, we were billed nga pala for it, yung mga lab test, although may nakuha kaming discount from PhilHealth...

And @geekpozzie is also with RITM... newly diagnosed, so we are not sure how about in other hubs, like PGH and SLH...

  1. Lol, im pretty hopeful at ska mttpos n rn ung patent ng arv sa mga 1st world country, i read that in hiv vaccine news. pharma companies are now racing who can create the vaccine, I assume that hiv meds competition will produce cheaper meds like the thai's do, they create their own arvs w/c is almost affordable by poor.its considered subsidized but insofar i have submitted my filhealth apps but it doesnt mention there about our situation yet. The admin at sl just want to make sure that i have applied 4 it.
