Then ala-una ng madaling araw... Miss World naman... online streaming pa din... funny, GMA 7 claim to broadcast it live at 10 am... wala ba tayong law against that... yung mga TV station lalagay ng Live kahit di naman... ABSCBN is guilty of the same, they claimed they broadcast the Miss Universe live pero mahigit 30 minutes ng tapos online yung pageant... at di b sila nagiisip, at this time and age, lulukohin pa nila tayo...?

1st runner up si Philippines... di ba, palong-palo tayo this year... sa MU, 3rd runner up, 15 finalist sa MI, tapos MW, 1st runner up...

Sabi ni Miss Philippines, it's her dream job... clear pa niya, na yes, it is a job... no darling, charity and helping shouldn't be a job but a way of life...

Ang daming kaeklatan... kasi at the end of the day, regardless ano sabihin ng mga judges... si Madam Julia Morley pa rin ang magdedecide sino ang magsosout ng corona...Ironically, that is what makes Miss World most prestigious, most elegant, and a lot more classier among other beauty pageant... who cares how gorgeous you are, if Julia Morley don't think you are fit to wear the crown, sorry...

And yes, it was boring... well, what do you expect from a snotty Brit?!?

What amazed me was that... the next Miss World would be hosted by a city called Ordos, in Inner Mongolia... so, my jaw dropped... Mongolia?! really?! Don't tell me even Mongolia would overtake Philippines economy, naku ha... pero hindi pala... Inner Mongolia is different from Mongolia...

Let's just assess...

1st, I was so happy that it was Portugal who won the online vote and be one of the finalist... And that Shamcey got in the top 16 out of her own merits... note, Lea Salonga was not one of the judges at the preliminaries, she just actually arrived at San Paolo that day...

Shamcey didn't have the best body so I got worried when after the swimwear competition, they were going to cut 6 girls out... of course she got in, and I was surprise that Venezuela didn't make it...

There was an online scoring, NBC.com/uscore... that was what was showing on screen instead of the judges score... of course, I scored all the candidates 1 and giving Philippines 10... as I said I don't care about being objective, I am a Filipino and no way will I vote against my fellow Filipino... or in this case Filipina... which is why I rather the judges scores as in theory, the judges are being objective--I believe in my heart Ma'am Lea Salonga didn't care either and just scored Shamcey 9.9 every time... and not being patriotic...

Evening gown competition... Shamcey's gown is from Colombia... Why? I also read on Facebook that it was a recycled gown, Ms Colombia actually have worn the same gown already... Okay, so Monique (Lhuillier) was busy because of fashion week... but Rajo? Ortiz? Sotto? Moreno... well not Pitoy... but we do have a lot of designers...? Talented designers!!! Anyhow, it is not the gown, it is how the candidate carry the gown... Shamcey did a good job, I had no doubt she would make it to the top 5 by then... I was also blown away by Angola, then on I know she would give Shamcey a run for the crown... actually, if Philippines was not in the competition, I have my money on Angola... So, they made it... fan vote showing Angola number 1 and Philippines, 2nd...

note: see through gown huh? nice, didn't Caville have done that years ago already?

5 finalist: Ukraine, Philippines, China, Brazil, and Angola...

It was noted by many that it was only Philippines who didn't need an interpreter... well, we shouldn't, after all English is our 2nd language... now TV patrol asked in their poll, should we start answering in Filipino, well, we have that option, if we are not comfortable answering in English, why not, surely... Ms. Universe Org., won't fault us with it and furnish us with an interpreter...

Angola, can speak English, I saw her video, the "if you believe there is life in other planets?" she was speaking in English, but I guess she didn't want to gamble, and not all too confident on her English, she chose to answer in her native tongue...

Many believed Shamcey should have placed better, she gave a good answer and she gave the answer very well... I agree... I actually thought it was between Angola and Philippines... not because of patriotism but we all heard... not that the other 3 girls didn't give a good answer, it was actually a tough one, even China who was asked about nude beaches and answered something about respecting other cultures, it was good... but it was between Philippines and Angola... no doubt about it... But then...

Oh, 1st thing 1st... the questions are not from the judges, as Ma'am Lea have twitted, the questions were given to them by the organizers, it was pre-written for them... that was very interesting... she twitted as everyone though Ma'am Lea gave an easy question to Ms. Angola... she should have asked something like how can she end tribal wars in Africa... and on a funny note, asked where Elisa is... but it was not her question, she just read the question...

I think what happened was, though it is admirable that Shamcey made a stand about her religion and what she believes in, I think it would have been better if she was more diplomatic about it... like saying their love would transcend religion... her answer can be perceived as very opinionated, even discriminatory to other religion...

What I think made Ms Angola win is not only her answer, and aside from she was stunning, was that she laughed when the interpreter kept interrupting her... It showed personality and sense of humor... I think that was what made her win the crown...

Yes, it have been almost 4 decades since we last won, but we have 2 Miss Universe, there are 89 countries and territories competing... the pageant is 60 years old... so medyo lamiyado pa... plus we place from time to time... special award dito at dyan... alam niyo ba na tayo ang may pinakamaraming Ms. Photogenic award...?

Next year mananalo tayo... kasi after another 20 years, sa 2014, ihohost natin ulit, for the 3rd time, and Miss Universe... magpapatayo kaya si Trump dito ng tower niya... basta, mananalo tayo next year!!!

Leila Lopes

If you would check my tweets @casuallypositiv, I was actually rooting for her, Miss Angola... but then, since Ms. Philippines was still in the competition, I have to stick with her and put all my money on her... I am a Filipino and I won't vote against my fellow Filipino... shot me now... but I won't... it's patriotism, it's being nationalistic and you asked whatever happen to being objective... I don't care, I scored everyone at NBC.com/Uscore 1 and Philippines 10...

As per pageant experts, Panoramic listed Ms Angola 17th... and putting Ms USA, who was in the top 16 but fail to make it to top 10 as number 1... 1st runner up, Ms. Ukraine was 15th, Ms Phil was 43rd, belonging to the middle class beauties... funny...!

Another claiming to be an expert, Nina Cleopatra...ranked Angola 16th... and crowning Malaysia as Ms. Universe, she didn't even make it to the top 16, Ukraine was ranked 5th, and Phil was 11th, she also have, China on the list, ranking 12th...

Mocha on the other hand have China on the top spot, and Ukraine as 1st runner up... pretty dead on... kudos! Philippines: 6th, and Leila was 16th...

at least she was consistently mentioned...

Sexydrew only have China right on his top 5, Phil is on his top 10... first on the top 16 was Ukraine, then Brazil, and Angola...

Ankit's forecast was Malaysia winning the crown... ranking Phil the 7th, China 9th, Brazil 10th... Angola and Ukraine were not on the list but they were mentioned as crucial 6... hmmmm...

Jeffrey Star voted Malaysia as Miss Universe, China was 4th, The Philippines makes the top 10, Angola does not make the list but was listed alternate, Ukraine was nowhere on the list...

Jike's listed China as Miss Universe, Brazil at 7th place, Philippines 11th, Angola and Ukraine ranked 16th and 17th...

Both Maria and Ray predicted Malaysia to win... Angola was 15th on Ray's list, 16th on Maria's... Ukraine is nowhere to be found on Ray's list but Maria ranked her 13th, Brazil is 16th on Ray's, not on Maria's ranking...Phil is 9th and 14th on Ray and Maria's book respectively...and the two agreed on China to be on 5th place...

What's with Malaysia, she keeps coming up but she didn't even made the top 16...?

Albeez list put Ukraine at the 9th place... that's it...

Midas have Panama as Ms U, Brazil on 11th place, Angola at 14th, Phil, China and Ukraine not even on top 20...

Missosology's final prediction have Ukraine as Ms Universe, she was 1st runner up, kudos!!! Phil as 3rd runner up... dead on... but Brazil was ranked 21st, Angola who won was 15th, and China was 7th...

Anyhow, aside from she deserve it... she is very pretty, I love her evening gown, her body rocks, and she did give a very good answer t her question... it would be the countries first crown--we have 2 in 60 years, there are more than 80 countries and territories participating, do the math... at least,it's not another latina, no offense but... I think we have enough of the latinas...

I am hoping we win next year, then host the Miss Universe the following year, 2014... thus every 20 years, we host the pageant...

shamcey

You might find it... hmmmm... yah, I'm that powerful... hehehehehehehehe... yabang... pero kasi di ko napanood ng live ang Miss Universe nung 1999, this after, every year ko naman inaabangan... tipong superbowl kaya ng mga bading ang Miss U... pero yun nga nung 1999 di ako nakapanood ng live for some reason and we emerged 1st runner up... and then last year, 2010, di ko nanaman napanood kasi I was at work... and what happened... we end up 4th runner up...

Jinx yata ako...?

I don't think she stand a chance... honestly... I don't even think she would make it to the top 16... I hope I'm wrong, I don't want to be right... like last year, I didn't think Venus Raj would win, mainly because her interviews were not as promising... but she end up 4th runner up... and I was right, interview would be her downfall...

With Shamcey... I really hope I'm wrong... but she does not strike me as someone who would make it even to the semis... bloggers and specially Missosology always put her on the top ten choices... I don't know their batting average... but let's really hope I'm wrong and they are right....

But remember 1994... when Miss Universe was held here, in Manila... Miss India, Sushmita Sen was unheard off... we followed the pageant closely being crazy about pageants, and we have our favorites... and indeed our favorite Miss Venezuela and Colombia made it 2nd and 1st runner up respectively, but Miss India came out of no where...
